Hi,
I’m
Kelley.

I am the founder and executive director of Adroit Therapy Services. My passion is supporting families as they truly get to know their children! At the heart of my practice as an occupational therapist and Spelling to Communicate Practitioner you'll find a presumption of competence. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of learning and growing when provided the right supports.

our story

A Northeast Tennessee native, I grew up in Kingsport and moved to Knoxville to complete my bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation at the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!). Being a part of this program piqued my interest in occupational therapy and set me on a path toward working with individuals with disabilities. I went on to earn my master's degree in occupational therapy from Milligan College before moving to Tampa, FL to pursue a passion for working with individuals with sensory-motor differences (autism, apraxia, sensory processing disorder, etc.). During my time in Florida, I had the opportunity to work in both private practice and the educational realm.

This is where I discovered Spelling to Communicate. I was working with several nonspeaking clients and it was clear that they had so much more to communicate than what they could express verbally. To better support them, I began learning about Spelling to Communicate.

In 2016, I became a Registered Spelling to Communicate Practitioner and began using all that I had learned in my practice. Just a few years later, I moved back home to Knoxville, TN and Adroit Therapy Services was born.

I now spend my days supporting nonspeakers and their families. I am honored to work with our growing community of spellers in Knoxville as well as families across the country.
